Uploading Different Types of Files - Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can I have MP3s and Video files in my site?

YES! First you need to create a Downloads Page:

1) Sign in to your Toolbox

2) Click "Site Index"

3) Click "Create New Page"

4) Give the page a Title and File Name - like "Audio and Video" and "audioandvideo".

5) Select the "Dowloads" page type:

6) Finally hit the "Save" button and you will see your new downloads page at the bottom of the list in the "Site Index".

7) Now go to Page Editor and start editing your new downloads page: Click the "Add New Entry" button:

8) This loads your "File Library". Click to Upload a file, or select a file already uploaded:

The File Library supports the following types of files:

Documents - Includes file formats with .doc, .pdf, .xls, .csv, .ppt or .txt extensions.

Audio - Includes file formats with .mp3, .wav, or .aif extensions.

Video - Includes file formats with .mpg, .mov, .qt, .mp4, .avi, .asf, .wmv, or .wma extensions.

Compressed - Includes file formats with .zip, .sea or .sit extensions.

9) Now fill in the details of your file to be displayed in the downloads page, and select an Image to go with the file, if required:

10) Finally Hit "Save" and view your Downloads page in the Page editor:

2. Can I have PDF / Word / Powerpoint and other documents in my site?

YES!!! First you need to create a Downloads Page:

Simply follow all the steps described above in Number 1.

The File Library supports the following types of files:

Documents - Includes file formats with .doc, .pdf, .xls, .csv, .ppt or .txt extensions.

Audio - Includes file formats with .mp3, .wav, or .aif extensions.

Video - Includes file formats with .mpg, .mov, .qt, .mp4, .avi, .asf, .wmv, or .wma extensions.

Compressed - Includes file formats with .zip, .sea or .sit extensions.

3. How do I access my File Library?

First you need to create a Downloads Page:

3) Click "Create New Page"

4. How do I access the Network File Library?

Follow all the steps in Number 3 above. When your file library loads, click the "Search" link:

Check the box that says "Include Network Files in Search Results", then hit "Search" button.

Now the Network Files will display with your own files in the File Library screen.

5. How do I put a FLASH movie in my site?

First you need to create a Code Page:

1) Sign in to your Toolbox

2) Click "Site Index"

3) Click "Create New Page"

4) Give the page a Title and File Name - like "Flash Movie" and "flashmovie".

5) Select the "Code" page type:

6) Finally hit the "Save" button and you will see your new downloads page at the bottom of the list in the "Site Index".

7) Now go to Page Editor and start editing your new code page: Click the "Select File" button:

You can now upload a Flash (.swf) file into your File Library. When you select it, to add it to your page, the HTML to autoplay your Flash movie, will appear in the Body section of the code page.

8) Finally hit "Save" and you will see your Flash Movie playing in the Page Editor screen.

6. I deleted a File from my Downloads page, but the used webspace for my site has not gone down. How do I permenantly delete a file?

You need to permenantly delete the files from your File Library, not just the Downloads page.

Click to "Add a new entry" to your Downloads page. When the File Library loads -- check the files you want to permenantly delete -- and then click the "Delete" button.
This will free up your space.

You need to use the same approach with images in your Image Library.
