1. What is an Email List?

An Email List is a way for you to send bulk Email out to multiple recipients quickly and easily.

With Cumulus9's Email Lists tool you can communicate very efficiently with your supporters, from within your website Toolbox.

We support the following types of Email Lists:

1) Email lists that are 'bound' to a Group of your Registered Users. Do you have a custom group set up with your website? Send an Email to all the members of that group in one go!

2) Email lists that you manually enter by hand. Do you have Email addresses for all your supporters? Quickly enter the information to create a new Email list.

3) Email lists that you IMPORT from other software programs. Do you have Contacts set up in Microsoft Outlook? You can export all your Contacts, and import them straight into Cumulus9's Email List tool. How?

2. How do I create an Email List?

1) Sign In to your Toolbox.

2) Click the "Email Lists" link:

3) Click the "Create New List":

4) Give the Email list a name and a description:

5) Select an option for how to build the list:

6) Finally hit the "Save" button.

You can now send plain text Emails to your new Email List, by clicking the "Create New Email" link in the "Email Lists" area:

3. How do I export my Contacts from Microsoft Outlook, and import them into an Email List?

1) Open Microsoft Outlook

2) Click the File Menu and select "Import and Export":

3) Select "Export to a File" and click "Next":

4) Select "Comma Seperated Values (Windows)" and click "Next":

5) Select your "Contacts" folder to export and click "Next":

6) Give your exported contacts file a sensible file name and location on your hard disk, then click "Next":

7) Click the "Map Custom Fields" button:

8) Drag over into the "To:" box ONLY First Name, Last Name and Email Address fields, then click "OK":

9) Finally hit "Finish" button.

This will save a .CSV file on your hard disk containing all your contacts.

You can now follow the steps in number 2 to UPLOAD your Contacts as an Email list.
